This course provides the basic information required for employees who handle, offer for transport, or transport dangerous goods by road. This classroom course includes:

• Review of Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and regulations, definitions and schedules
• Identifying Dangerous Goods Class 1 through 9
• Compatibility, risk and packaging groups
• Responsibilities of consignor and carrier
• Identify and demonstrate the proper use of placards, labelling and safety marking
• Overview of shipping documentation
• Review Emergency Response Assistance Plan (ERAP) requirements

Option: Can be combined with the Forklift Safety Refresher or WHMIS course on the same day.
